FAMOUS: HUNGARIAN FASHION MODELS?

With Toni&Guy Fashion Week in Budapest coming up, I have been wondering which faces will be present on the runway. I was at Marie Claire Fashion Days (see previous posts) and I did not recognize any 'famous models'. Which got me thinking. WHO are the 'famous Hungarian fashion models'? When you Google search said phrase, this is what you get in your search results: Barbara Palvin.

I remember when I was back home in Canada and there was a huge 'scandal' of Barbara Palvin posing with Justin Bieber at the Victoria's Secret fashion show broke out on Twitter (claims were made that Barbara was the 'reason' Selena and Justin split... old news!).

Hey hey hey.

That was the first time that I'd really heard of her and thought that she looked very similar to VS Russian model Natalia Vodianova. Of course, now I see their differences.

So, let's take a look at some Hungarian models and I will continue in my search for famous fashion models from Hungary. I will also keep my eyes peeled for Barbara on the runway this weekend (she is, after all, currently filming in Hungary - see previous posts).

Eniko Mihalik: Currently ranked #27 on the Top Women list by www.models.com. Eniko was born in Bekescsaba, Hungary (May 11th, 1987) and was discovered at a shopping mall when she was 15. She won the Hungarian Elite Model Look contest in 2002, and finished 4th at the International Elite Model Look. She 'broke through' in 2006 when she debuted the Chanel Haute Couture show in Paris and since then has been booked by famous designers. She was also chosen to be in the 2010 Pirelli calendar, photographed by Terri Richardson.

Fresh faced, Luca Adamik (19) just recently broke into the modeling business and has made it on an international scale. She was discovered at a bus stop, on her way home from a dance class. This year, Luca has enrolled to the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, and has some freedom in organizing her modelling schedule. She is regularly seen on the catwalks of Giorgio Armani, Miu Miu, Jean Paul Gaultier and other famous fashion houses.

Kate Kondas (19), another Hungarian model on the rise, is known for her trademark chin which makes her popular amongst designers. Kate was born in 1994 in Debrecen, and started out with modeling by winning a VM Model Agency contest in Budapest. Kate was recently featured in the Saks Fifth Avenue 'Black & White Trend' S/S'13 catalogue shot by Marton Perlaki and her list of clients keeps getting longer and longer.

Kinga Bajor, 17 years old, was scouted at a Christmas market by Vince Barati (Icon Model Management). Since her first shooting, she has modeled for fashion magazine 'Dazed & Confused', a special for Maison Martin Margiela by Rachel Chandler (March 2013) and in Brandroom's F/W'12 campaign with Caitlin Morrin by Cuneyt Akeroglu.

I wonder if any of these ladies will be making appearances at the Toni & Guy Fashion Week in Budapest.
