HEVIZ & TIHANY

Last weekend, was a relaxing weekend spent on the outskirts of Budapest, about 2 hours away in a village called Heviz and drove through another village called Tihany. Stayed at Lotus Therme Hotel and Spa, a wellness hotel close to the thermal lake of Heviz, which is the largest thermal lake in Europe. Enjoyed a variety of saunas for the ultimate relaxation: Finnish and garden sauna, a laconium, a steam sauna, an aroma light sauna and an infra cabin which I couldn't figure out how to use! Definitely worth visiting :)

MOHITO SS15

MOHITO is bringing a bit of sunshine into my day today with it's Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Beautiful shots by Polish photographer, Marcin Tyszka capture the contrast of the bright nature of the collection set against the calm background. I love the movement of the splash print dress set against the blue sea and sky and the other pieces with the same print. Find the Polish brand at Mom Park in Budapest and check out the rest of the campaign images HERE!

RAYAN + ULTIMATE LUXURY FASHION SHOW

RAYAN Clothing hosted The Ultimate Luxury Fashion Show at REMIX Club in Budapest last night to introduce their new collection 'INK ME' and new Hungarian designer Tamara Toth. Gabor Garami,  from ClassFM Radio introduced the show, designers and assisted in giving out prizes.

RAYAN started in 2013 by HamidReza Kazemi as a web-shop; selling their clothing online and just recently opened their showroom on Wesselenyi utca 23 (7th district) in January 2015. The founder and creative director, HamidReza may not be from Hungary, however, the clothing line is 100% Hungarian. From the inspiration to the final finishes on each product, it is designed and produced in the country.

The street wear brand draws a lot of their focus from a mix of contemporary styles and trends and draws inspiration from the amazing architecture and sights in the city of Budapest. You'll find many of their t-shirts with graphics of sights such as Hero's Square, the Buda castle and Parliament and text admiring the city, such as 'Lovely Budapest'. It is easy to walk by these amazing places each day and forget how truly inspirational they are and the feeling you get when you are in their presence, and the brand would like to remind it's customers about how spectacular of a city it is that we live in.

Thank you for the invitation RAYAN! :) Enjoy the photos from the event... :)

THE WILD COLLECTION

Marcus Goldson is a talented artist from Kenya, Africa who studied Art History and Sculpture in the UK and has lived in Budapest with his wife and two children for over 20 years. He is a friend and coworker of mine and I've enjoyed attending his exhibits and seeing his work around the city in cafes, markets and various art events. His most recent exhibit, titled 'The Wild Collection', was this past Thursday at Brody ArtYard and I attended with friends to check out his special limited edition risograph print series inspired by the wildlife in his native home. Marcus' other works are a true representation of life in the city of Budapest, and each detail in his work is so carefully crafted and planned. His depiction of people and places around Budapest are taken from his neighbourhood, local pub, 'characters' he sees on the bus. Marcus has already collaborated with an author to create an illustrated book titled 'The Magic Tram' and is working on his next book, which is more so intended for adults rather than children.

My favourite from The Wild Collection
