Marcus Goldson is a talented artist from Kenya, Africa who studied Art History and Sculpture in the UK and has lived in Budapest with his wife and two children for over 20 years. He is a friend and coworker of mine and I've enjoyed attending his exhibits and seeing his work around the city in cafes, markets and various art events. His most recent exhibit, titled 'The Wild Collection', was this past Thursday at Brody ArtYard and I attended with friends to check out his special limited edition risograph print series inspired by the wildlife in his native home. Marcus' other works are a true representation of life in the city of Budapest, and each detail in his work is so carefully crafted and planned. His depiction of people and places around Budapest are taken from his neighbourhood, local pub, 'characters' he sees on the bus. Marcus has already collaborated with an author to create an illustrated book titled 'The Magic Tram' and is working on his next book, which is more so intended for adults rather than children.
