Belvedere Palace

It was a bit of a cool and cloudy day for our second day in Vienna, but we didn't let the weather stop us. My friend Olivia and I visited the Belvedere Palace, walked around the grounds and through the gardens - didn't get too wet from the pitter patter of the rain but it was a bit chilier! (+10 degrees Celcius). The palace is absolutely beautiful and it's incredible to think that people actually used to live here! There are two palace buildings (photos are of the Upper palace and the other is known as the Lower palace) and they are set in a Baroque park landscape in the third district of the city. The Upper Belvedere palace houses the Belvedere museum. The grounds are on a gentle incline and include decorative tiered fountains and cascades, Baroque sculptures, and majestic wrought iron gates. The Baroque palace complex was built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy. I wouldn't have minded living here at all...
