TGFWB AW 14/15

The Autumn/Winter collections for 2014/15 were presented at the fantastic Toni & Guy Fashion Week in Budapest this weekend and I can not express how excited I was to be attending another fashion show in this amazing city! The designers at this whole day fashion event are exceptional in Hungarian design, have a vision and passion for clothing and are truly talented. The day was jam packed with shows one after another, with two hour breaks in between to change the hair and makeup concepts for each show. M.A.C. cosmetics always does such an incredible transformation with the models (no matter which show they are working on) and Toni & Guy stylists prepared an inspired hair concept for each show. Peter Friedman, hair expert, has worked for various fashion weeks, including London, and continued to inspire at the fashion week in Budapest, along with his team. There were a variety of local and international companies sponsoring the event as well; from Jana water to Samsung, Mercedes-Benz, to Basic Collection and UPC.

A new addition to the event was the blog bar, where bloggers and media could instantly @connect to the fashion week main page as well as each other through common #hashtags. I enjoyed scrolling through Facebook and Instagram throughout the day to see what others were posting and following new people in the city who enjoy doing the same thing!

Also, each show was available on ustream.tv so that the shows would be available to a larger audience.
Shows can be replayed from the site if you're interested in watching.

I was very interested to not only see what the designers were presenting on the runways, but also very interested to see what people in the crowds were wearing. As you'll notice from the runway photos in the posts for each designers, the main colour or hue of interest was black. As easy as it is to wear and as classic it may look, I was hoping to find people in something other than black! I opted for a deep blue top (which I've also worn as a dress before in the summer) along with black (gah!) leather leggings and stilettos.

My favourites from the shows? Take a peek below...

Kata Szegedi's blues, front zippered dresses, prints paired with prints, silver grey shirts and jackets together and the chunkier black and white heels.

Nubu's thick belts over loosely fitted dresses and coats, big blue and grey prints (especially this massive scarf which could pass as a blanket!) and smiley faced embellishment on this grey dress.

Je Suis Belle's triangular patterns, half embellished dresses and tops and dresses that were longer in the front and shorter in the back.

Anda Emilia's geometrical dresses were stunners! I especially loved the thin cross over straps, the sheer fabric and the triangular repetition in the earrings and on this dress.

Also, Anda's white structured and sheer top, kimono style tops and jackets and this greige (grey-beige) blouse that is collared and long in the back.

Nanushka's navy blue mini dress, baby blues for all seasons and winter whites paired with printed silky tops.

Last but not least, Use unused's structured wool sweaters and jackets, high waisted purple trousers and work appropriate printed cigarette trousers.

Thank you to Big Bag PR Agency for the invitation and a well spent Saturday! :)
