Another wine region in Hungary to add to the list. Liszkay, in the tiny town of Monoszló, captured my attention and inspired me this weekend. Although this region specializes in red wines, Liszkay also offers a white Pinot Gris and a rose Pinot Noir. The owner, Mihály Liszkay gave us a tour around the estate and we shared lovely conversation about his years living abroad. It was even a surprise to hear that Mihály spent some years in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada), where he managed property for the Reichmann brothers; wealthy estate owners from Toronto. He also assisted Asian immigrants with developing businesses in Canada. A busy man with a beautiful view. I am looking forward to going back once the weather heats up a bit more.
